Other states only list the most recent property items in their custody, while yet others list only older records. We knew from the announcement from the Bush administration about stimulus check being sent to Americans in 2008 that many of those checks would never be cashed.

The shocking reason is many people are so skeptical of anything they get in the mail, they will overlook the stimulus checks as a scam and never cash the check. My bet is many thousands of those are sitting in trash dumps right now.
